The Blue Star fleet offers superior comfort on all their vessels with air conditioned cabins with internet access, ala carte restaurants, conference facilities and tea and coffee lounges, gift shops and boutiques.
On February 1st, 2010 SUPERFAST FERRIES became the first ferry operator in the world to introduce a new exclusive cabin category called “PURE CABIN”. As of 1st April 2011 PURE cabins are also available on Blue Star Ferries vessels.
PURE cabins are treated with a cutting-edge process that purifies the air and surfaces, providing the ultimate comfort level for those sensitive to airborne particles. Leading asthma and allergy doctors recognize this process as an effective solution for those looking for a safe haven while traveling away from home.
PURE cabins are available on Blue Star 1, Blue Star 2 and Superfast XII with an extra charge of 5€ per bed, per way. There is a limited number of LUX (2 beds) and A4 (4 beds outside) PURE cabins and they cannot be occupied on a per bed basis. All other cabin types are still available.
Cargo
All ships have closed circuit televisions monitoring the garage for damage or accident prevention.
Also, for refrigerated trucks there are electrical sockets of 380 Volts with 220 Volts transformers available, as it is not permitted to use autonomous refrigeration mechanisms in the garage area during the voyage.
The Cargo Department at the headquarters of BLUE STAR FERRIES must be informed in time of the transportation of special cargo.
A cargo is considered special when:
- the height of the truck exceeds 4 meters.
- the width of the truck exceeds 2.6 meters.
- the maximum weight per wheel axle exceeds 12 tons.
- the total weight of the truck and its cargo exceeds 40 tons.
Building and agricultural machinery are transported only if they have the specifically required wheels. In all other cases, they must be loaded on the proper transportation vehicles.
The price will be agreed upon, once a fax of the specific requirements of the freight has been sent to Blue Star Ferries Cargo Department.
